THE WORLD’S DEEPEST CANYON

There’s no clear consensus on how to actually measure a canyon’s true depth, and there much debate about which canyon is actually the world’s deepest, but in 1979 Peru’s Colca Canyon held the honor of this distinction and to this day holds a legitimate claim to the contested throne, with a prominence and steepness that make the other contending canyons look like valleys.
